General information on taking back batteries
The German Battery Law Implementation Act (Batterierecht-Durchführungsgesetz or BattDG) imposes a legal obligation to take back and properly dispose of batteries.
August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co. KG considers sustainable and ecofriendly business practices and waste disposal arrangements to be part of our core values and sense of social responsibility.
1. Separate collection of batteries
Any collected waste batteries and waste equipment are exclusively recycled. Valuable metals such as nickel, cobalt, lithium, manganese, copper, iron, aluminium and even silver can be recovered and reused as secondary raw materials. For this reason, the products have a symbol with a crossedout wheelie bin.
Waste batteries (both standard and rechargeable) that are not enclosed within the waste equipment must be returned separately. The only case in which this does not apply is if waste equipment is returned to public waste management facilities (e.g. recycling centres) where the materials are separated by type.
August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co. KG is a member of the approved takeback scheme run by the GRS Batteries Foundation (Stiftung GRS Batterien) in Germany, a specialist in the circular economy. As a result, we can offer a comprehensive battery take-back scheme (as stipulated in the BattDG). For further information please see www.grs-batterien.de.
2. Return options
If you want to replace your PFERD TOOLS product with a new one or no longer have any use for it, do not simply dispose of it with household waste. Instead, return it to a public waste management facility (e.g. recycling centres).
In accordance with Section 14 BattDG, PFERD TOOLS can also take back batteries (both standard and rechargeable) once they have reached the end of their service life. If you wish to use this service, please return the product in question to us.
